The Compliance Manager plays a critical role in the fulfilment of the Group Compliance strategic objectives. You will support the Unit and Comp AVP in timely review and approval of new sensitive ultra high-risk accounts and special-risk accounts being on-boarded including precious metals and precious stones. Ensuring completion of all the periodic (Annual & Trigger) reviews of existing accounts.


On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

  • Providing hands-on guidance / oversight and/or approval (and participating in as may be necessary) in respect of the: On-going Customer Due Diligence (new sensitive ultra high-risk accounts and special-risk accounts onboarding) including precious metals and precious stones related account reviews for the Retail segment
  • Reviewing of all manual triggers/red flags escalated and provide recommendations/report to Manager with risk analysis and risk mitigation after completion of thorough investigations
  • Enhancing of sanctions controls through the addition of prohibited names/entities to internal watch lists, CIF suspension
  • Contribute towards the effective implementation and embedment of the Group Compliance framework for Retail segment and Wealth Management


To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Degree education as minimum, preferably a post graduate qualification
  • Compliance qualifications from an internationally recognized body is desirable like ACAMS, International Compliance Association certifications / diploma is advantageous
  • 5 years compliance experience in the financial services industry, preferably in retail banking compliance in a recognized market
  • Minimum 2 years compliance experience in the review &/ approving of ultra high-risk and special risk accounts including precious metals and precious stones related accounts
